I'm Bri. I make complicated things clear.
I'm a designer with over 15 years' experience, from running my own website agency to designing UK government services. Now I design and build websites for businesses that want them done properly.

How I got here
Where I started
I started out running my own website agency for eight years. I worked with great people and excellent local clients, and it's where I learned my craft: how to design, how to build and how to work with clients. It's also where I found what I'm good at, turning what users need into solutions that actually work.
What government work taught me
Government services have to work for everyone, whatever their age, ability or confidence online. Designing for that whole audience taught me two things. Simplicity is almost always the best solution. And when you design for the people who find things hardest, everybody benefits. Accessibility isn't a box to tick; it makes things better for all.
Why websites, why now
I've always been a product designer, and websites are where I started. This is me coming back to the work I love, with everything I've learned from eight years of designing government services. Now I want to bring that to businesses that deserve a website as clear and well made as the public services I've worked on.
How I work
Clarity over cleverness
If people have to think about how to use your website, it isn't working. I'll always choose the clear option over the clever one.
Honest feedback
I'll tell you what I think, even when it's not what you want to hear. You're paying for my experience, not my agreement.
Accessible by default
Every site I build meets WCAG 2.2 AA from the start, not as an extra at the end.
You work with me, not an account manager
No handoffs. The person you talk to is the person designing and building your website.

Brian led the UX work on one of my projects and worked collaboratively as part of a UCD team which worked exceptionally well.
As a contractor Brian wasn’t just a turn up and do some work and leave, he helped build capability and drive behavioural changes in an area not always known for wanting to change. I consistently received positive feedback around Brian’s work, style and coaching.
Outside work
I own an old Land Rover Defender. It takes a lot of looking after, but in between fixing it, I drive it along the green lanes of the UK and overland through Europe.
